Two more races down - the Nelo Summer Challenge and the Maar'amu Surfski Race in Tahiti... Jasper Mocke beat his brother to take the Nelo race and to move into second position on the Oceanpaddler World Rankings.
Dawid Mocke extended his lead in the Oceanpaddler Surfski World Series to 19 points with an outstanding win in Mauritius against Jeremy Cotter, his closest rival at the top of the rankings. Action now moves from the tropics to the frigid waters of the Arctic - the ASKC takes place at the end of the month in Norway.
Although Dawid Mocke had a disappointing race at EuroChallenge, his result was enough to springboard him to the top of the Oceanpaddler World Rankings. Jeremy Cotter (Aus) lies only a few points back... all eyes will be on the upcoming Mauritius Ocean Classic at the end of June.
Three races into the 2012 Oceanpaddler World Series, the scoring system designed to select the world's best downwind paddler has yielded surprising results: Though the top 15 spots are littered with big names like Jasper and Dawid Mocke, Bruce Taylor, Brendon Sarson, Ash Nesbit, Dean Gardiner and Ben Allen, they all trail Ryan Moffet, a 32-year-old firefighter from the Gold Coast and Joe Glickman, a 52-year-old journalist from Brooklyn, N.Y.
