471. Dolphin Coast Record Broken by Herman Chalupsky

Anton Fouche, organiser of the Men's Health Dolphin Coast Challenge confirmed that Herman Chalupsky broke the Salt Rock to Durban record by five minutes - a feat all the more remarkable in the relatively benign conditions.   The two day, 74km downwind race was held on the weekend of 28/29 October 2006.

The record breaking (well the Cape record anyway!) Anton Erasmus of East Cape Canoe Union confirmed that the PE2EL Surfski Challenge race is still on.   "The guys mustn't worry," he said, "the race is definitely still on.  It'll be lower key of course, but we'll have safety, we'll have guys on the beach to start the race and take times."
