I remember way back when seeing Marshall on numerous occasions paddling out past Portlock Point. I had no idea what kind of craft he was on, but as soon as I found out I ordered one just like George's, which I believe was called the intermediate model. At the time there were a couple of his boats on display at the old McCully Bicycle location. My last Rose Ski was one of his racing designs, the one just before he went to a forward mounted rudder. He gave me a few tips about surfing and the swell directions on the Hawaii Kai run, which was a huge help in my learning the ways of the sea. I was extremely lucky to have run into such a great guy in the beginning years of my entering the world of surf-skis. - Monte Kim
