I was wondering if there are any articles and/or links to the several fatal accidents in the Northern Hemisphere involving surf ski paddlers and cold water? Sea Kayaker magazine has two good articles in the current issue Feb 2008. One is "Cold Water Consequences...What you need to know." (Pg 24) and the other is "Rescue on Lake Michigan" (Pg 17) although these articles are NOT currently on their website at www.seakayakermag.com. These articles and other published reports help to bring about an awareness as to the situations that occurred leading up to the unfortunate event(s) while hopefully educating the reader as to "what to" and "what not to do" when paddling in frigid waters. - Ron Ladzinski Mon, 31 Dec 2007 04:03:12 +0100
