			<description>Hi Greg
The &quot;Box&quot; on the back is a rescue tube used in surf life saving in Australia. Yes it was compulsory along with a flare and whistle. Just part of the saftey requirements.

<description>An ultra-marathon World Series would be a great addition for the
surf ski guys who are into that kind of insanity...you should include
the Texas Water Safari and The Everglades Challenge so that the US paddlers
do not have to travel overseas to paddle...makes for fair play...

			<title>How the points system works</title>
			<link>http://www.surfski.info/content/view/619/147/#pc_1957</link>
			<description>Hi Gavin
The points work in the following. First place in each leg gets 1 point and second gets 2 points and so on down the order untill 20th received 20 points. So the competitor with least points wins overall, with points being allocated each day. It changes the way in which you race each day rather than time being the consideration it is placing that is critical.
Thanks

			<title>Tough conditions!</title>
			<link>http://www.surfski.info/content/view/619/147/#pc_1949</link>
<description>I was at Tathra for my annual holidays and saw the competitors come in. Congratulations to everyone who finished, the conditions were really brutal! The competitors in the surf boats were particularly impressive, having to negotiate some really big surf to get in and out each day. - Peter Finlayson</description>

<description>Glad to see the surfboats are alive and well in Aussie. I understand that they are expensive and that crews are hard to keep together but it is really sad to see their decline in other parts of the world.
