The 26.7mile (43km) Mayor's Cup race takes place on Sunday 14^th October in New York, USA.  The race course takes the paddlers on a grueling circumnavigation of Manhattan Island.  Surfski.info will be covering the event live...

Well, the 2007 edition of the Soualiga Challenge has come and gone.  I have almost recovered from the weeks of organising and the race itself, which turned out to be pretty brutal - but more of that later.

Taking the ferry to St. Barths

We just spoke to Barry Lewin who was on the beach of St. Marteen Island in the Caribbean Netherlands Antilles...  He had just won the 24.5km Souliga Challenge in a record time (by 12 seconds) of 1:54.

Tomorrow, 23 Sep 2007, sees the running of the St. Marteen Souliga Challenge in the Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean.  We had an update from some of the competitors including South Africa's Barry Lewin who is competing in the race for the first time.

Challenging First Chicago Shoreline Marathon

September 8th was the 1st annual Chicago Shoreline Marathon, an open water race from Calumet Harbor--the former industrial epicenter on the south side of the city--to Leone Beach on Chicago's north side.

Summer is almost here in South Africa - and along with it the summer racing series...  Apart from the ever popular Discovery Men's Health series in Cape Town, there's a new Spar Ocean Racing series in Port Elizabeth.  Go forth and race!

Two important announcements have just been made concerning surf ski in Australia - three races to decide the Cash to Compete recipients for the Dubai Shamaal race - and the Ocean Series will decide who competes in Durban in 2008.
