 The big O sent us the link to his GPS track for the Perth World Cup Day 2 on Motionbased.com.
Some interesting stats: average speed 9.5mph/15.5kph; max speed 13.9mph/22.3kph.
According to MotionBased, the wind speed was 14-18mph/23-30kph WSW.

Team South Africa Sweeps Day One World Cup Surf Ski Champs
Perth, November, 24: Last week at a tune up prior to day one of the World Cup Surf Ski race from Fremantle to Sorrento Beach, Oscar Chalupsky narrowly edged out fellow Durbanite Daryl Bartho, winning by just over 10 seconds. The biggest surprise wasn't so much that the 43-year-old Chalupsky won but that he finished first in a relatively flat sea, conditions that would normally favour his younger, faster rival.

Perfect conditions are forecast for this weekends Surf Ski World Cup event off Perth's Beaches. Strong afternoon sea breezes will assist the paddlers over the two day series.
Paddlers from as far a field as Belgium, South Africa, Hong Kong and New Zealand will compete against a host of Australia's best from the Eastern States and the local contingent.

The Australian Surf Ski World Cup takes place on 25 and 26 November 2006 in Perth, Western Australia.
Race 1 on 25 November is 25km in length running from Fremantle Beach to Sorrento Beach.
Race 2 on 26 November is Rottnest Island to Hillarys Boat Harbour, Scarborough
Note that the event is scheduled conveniently for the inaugural Dubai Shamal International Surf Ski Race which will run on 1st December.
