ImagePerfect conditions are forecast for this weekends Surf Ski World Cup event off Perth's Beaches. Strong afternoon sea breezes will assist the paddlers over the two day series.

Paddlers from as far a field as Belgium, South Africa, Hong Kong and New Zealand will compete against a host of Australia's best from the Eastern States and the local contingent.

Cottesloe paddler Natasha Leaversuch who has been unbeaten in local competition will have duel Olympian Yanda Nossitter from Sydney and New Zealand Olympian Katie Pocock to contend with to maintain her unblemished record.

The men's competition will see three former world champions in Oscar and Herman Chalupsky from South Africa and Perth born Dean Gardiner who between them have won twenty one world championships taking on current Australian champ Dave Kissane and former Ironman Matt Rees.

New Zealand's Mike Walker along with South Africans, Daryl Bartho and Barry Lewin join the local contingent of Michael Baker and Ash Nesbit as contenders for the weekend's title.

The paddlers will start at 2pm on both days with day one from Fremantle to Sorrento and day two from Rottnest to Hillarys.   If the predicted conditions prevail the top end of the field will surf their way along the coast at about 20kph.

Along with the elite, hundreds of non-elite paddlers will also tackle the coastal race on day one which will make for an exciting spectacle along the race course.

The races are part of the Mens Health Ocean Racing Series with the Perth event being the second out of five events throughout Australia. The MHORS is currently in its fifth year and remains the only premier ocean racing series in the country where the everyday punter can line up next to our best ocean athletes.

Along with the paddling event there is also a beach run and ocean swim at Sorrento on Saturday morning. The events are open to everyone for more information and to register today go to www.menshealthoceanracing.com.au.
