* Yellow Vests

Daniel Kantor regains the seniors Yellow vest from Ian Trautman after he
cut The last corner too closely to miss out Preen buoy. I bet he won’t
do that again.

Bronwen Hobbs had to dig deep to keep her yellow vest to just finish a
head of Romy Parker and Caren Planting as they all finished together.

Neil Macdonald is the 4th veterans to claim the Yellow vest. Will he be
the first to hold onto it longer than one race or will Neil Bailey take
it?

Johann van Blerck continues to hold onto the masters Yellow vest. But
the last race he had to work hard to pick up some valuable point as
Shaun Butler reels him in.

Andrew McPherson & Aaron van Schaik with there impressive performance in
the last two races put them at the top of the men’s double to claim the
yellow vests.

Will some one be able to take the mixed double yellow vest away from Rob
and Liz Hart? Yes it’s possible. But going to be some good hard
paddling!

* Race 4: Smith Tabata Buchanan Boyes Report

It might have been a little overcast, but what a perfect evening! The
wind died down to nothing. The bay was a little to flat for some of 124
boats that lined the water edge as they waited eagerly for the sound of
the start.

The course was an out and back to White house. The long course was two
laps and the short one.

In the long course it was Andrew McPherson and Aaron van Schaik who
teamed up once again, but they had a bit of competition with a number of
other doubles and a few single on the start line to give them a run for
there money.

The competition of Graeme Soloman, Julian Callebaut and the double of
Andrew Torr and Andrew Ross tried hard to hang onto Andrew McPherson and
Aaron van Schaik. They left the beach with all guns firing and when
rounding Preen buoy for the first lap. They had a 45 second lead over
the chasing double of Andrew Torr and Andrew Ross, with Graeme Soloman
not to far behind.

With no mistake Andrew Mcpherson and Aaron van Schaik increased there
lead to finish in 39:50. Andrew Torr and Andrew Ross where second in
41:15 with Graeme taking third in a time of 41:29.

The women race was a lot closer as they all came in together. Brownwen
Hobbs (54:10) just managed to get ahead to take first from Romy Parker
(54:19). Caren Planting (54:22) had to settle for third.

Bruce Neil (44:27) just couldn’t close the 9 second gap on Neil Bailey
(44:18) to take first spot away form him. Mark Torrington (45:22) who
had his sights on getting closer Neil Bailey, had to settle for third.
He has to work on that game plan again!

First master Shaun Butler (45:32) did it again. Johann van Blerck
(47:24) had to work hard to take second away from John Rhynes (47:52)
who had to settle for third.

Rob and Liz Hart the only Mixed double paddled hard to try and stay with
the some of the other doubles just in front of them.

In the short course its was Tony Barrett (26:42) who took line owners
and first master, with Craig Copeland (26:59) close behind, but had to
settle for second, with Greg Bertish (27:45) third.

First woman and Junior was Michelle Adams (29:28) and second Esmé
Beamish (31:04), with Jody Baumgarten (31:24) in third.

Justin Cross (33:06) was the first novice with Brett Steyn (33:30) close
behind.

David Murray-Smith and Michele Leach-Lewis (28:34) took first mixed
double with James and Rebecca Cullis (29:11) not too far behind to take
second.

Well done to all.

A big thanks to Shirley and Johann for helping with registration and
timing. To Rob and his crew on the support boat a big thank you for
being out there. Keith for video footage of the race.
