Individual World
Rankings
For individuals, the following rules apply:
-
Points are calculated based on position across
the finish line. 1st place
gets maximum points (10 or 15). Second
place gets max-1 point; Third place gets max-2 and so on.
-
The best five results count.
-
In the event of a tie, the next result counts (i.e.
if two paddlers each have 50 points at the end of the series, the winner will
be decided from their 6th result.)
Points Allocation
Races with higher potential for international participation (represented
largely by the prize money on offer) were allocated 15 points.
Best Five Results
Not all the paddlers can participate in all the races. Some will miss races through injury or other
reasons, hence the decision to base the rankings on the best five results
achieved by each individual.

Would it not be fairer to use a percentage based tabulation, such as we use in mosts series where the conditions on the day & difficultly of the race create for a ture reflection of the padddlers ability combined, rather than the size of the sponsors purse being offered!
I don't think this current point allocation will give a fair reflection of a World Cup Ranking, regardless of who wins it there will be a *disclaimer given with the title.
