The Cape Point Challenge, sponsored by Men's Health, starts tomorrow morning 22 December 2007 at 05:00 when the first batch of paddlers sets off from Soetwater.  They face a 56km route around Cape Point to Fish Hoek via Buffels Bay.

Forecast - weather

Buoyweather, normally a fairly reliable source of weather forecasts says, "Light winds with a slight chop. Moderate long period swell. Winds: ESE 9 to 12 knots Seas: SW 7 feet at 13 sec."

So it looks as though we'll have a breeze in our faces for the first 27km to the point, and a hot flat grind after that as the wind dies.

Forecast - results

My predictions are:

  1. Paul Marais
  2. Oscar Chalupsky
  3. Peter Cole

Dawid?
written by Rob Mousley, December 21, 2007
Dawid caught a nasty bug in Perth (or more likely Dubai) which has seen him unable to paddle much since he got back from Australia. He said tonight that he was feeling good but I don't see him performing after 3 hard races followed by 2 weeks of sickness.
