[News from Dean Gardiner] Here's some info on upcoming events here in Australia.

After a pretty slow festive season the ocean paddling program here is Australia is starting to get going again.

Recently the City of Wollongong hosted the NSW Single and Double Ski Champs. Both days of racing were well contested.

Bridge to Beach

March is set to be a big month on the paddling calendar. Australia's biggest ocean paddling event The Bridge to Beach takes place on March 9. Now in its 4th year the event featured well over 400 paddlers last year with double that expected this year. The B to B is open to all sorts of paddle craft and all ages and abilities of paddlers.

Starting under the Harbour Bridge , the 11 kilometer race takes you down the  most beautiful harbour in the world finishing at Manly Beach in Sydney's North.

Yarra Bay Challenge

The following week the inaugural Yarra Bay Challenge takes place on Botany Bay. Maroubra Surf Club are putting a lot of effort into making this event a good one and a permanent fixture on the ocean paddling calendar.

Yarra Bay was held today. Pretty poor turnout, not a lot of paddlers from the north side unfortunately. Fantastic weather, not a lot of chop or swell.
