Steve Knowles sent us a batch of superb photos from this morning's King of the Harbour race in Auckland, New Zealand, where Tim Jacobs won in emphatic style!

Commentary - Ian Ferguson
I also caught up with Ian Ferguson, our water-borne commentator as he was leaving the prize-giving ceremony. He said that the race had gone extremely well.
"There were twice as many prizes as people!" he said, "All the international guys got a traditional Maori carving; the prize money was good; everyone got something."
Portaging
During the live commentary the escort boat wasn't able to see the channel on the other side of Rangitoto Island so we were unaware that there had been a portage required of the paddlers.
The tide was out! Portaging behind Rangitoto (Pic: www.sportzhub.com)
"The tide wasn't quite in," said Ian. "That's when Mike Walker lost out, he wasn't as fast as the Aussies in the running and he couldn't catch up.
"The last half of the race was a great downwind."
Correction to Commentary
There was a certain amount of confusion in the commentary - Nick Holt was misidentified as Ian Gray! And by checking the photos we can see that it was actually Caine Eckstein who beat his training partner Jeremy Cotter into third position.
Jeremy lead until the last third of the race, then seemed to hit the wall when Tim Jacobs made his beautifully timed burst away. Caine, who had been lying third, then came through to beat Jeremy to the finish.
So - the unofficial results are:
- Tim Jacobs (Aus)
- Caine Eckstein (Aus)
- Jeremy Cotter (Aus)
- Mike Walker (NZ)
- Nick Holt (Aus)
- Lewis Laughlin (Tah)
- Simon McLarin (NZ)
And of course, Katie Pocock won the women's race.
