The Dubai Shamaal has been joined by the Southern Shamaal - and the world's richest races are raising the standards of race organization, prize money and professional attendance.
Dubai Shamaal 2008
The Dubai Shamaal 2008 promises to be the one to win for 2008 with a $20,000 1st prize for Men, a $5,000 1st prize for women and serious cash for Masters and Junior athletes as well. The total cash prize pool for the race is $108,000 and there is the biggest giveaway in Surfski: a package worth $20 000 to be won in the annual ANCHORMAN promotion, available through surfski.info only.
The Dubai Shamaal was an outstanding event in 2007 and will be the race to be at for 2008.

The Southern Shamaal PE to EL Challenge
 The Southern Shamaal is the new look for the 35 year old PE to EL Challenge: the toughest ocean race on the planet. The race attracts the strongest & fittest paddlers in the World, and covers 250km in 4 days in single or double skis.
The Shamaal brand opens the race up to International & sponsored teams that want to take on the distance in a relay format. Who will be the long distance World Champs for 2008? There is $25,000 in prize money, a great beer sponsor & a chance to see some of the wildest, most remote and most beautiful coastline in South Africa.
