Tom Selleck's most photographed ski was a TwoGood Kayaks - made in Hawaii.
I am not sure if you are serious or not, but if you are, there are a few things you should realize.
Surfskis have come a really long way since the mid-80's.
Today's ski is both MORE STABLE and FASTER.
To achieve more stability, most have gone with a seat depth that's always more than 2" in depth - granted, I sometimes feel that some have gone too deep.
Older skis couldn't adjust leg length. It was a fixed setting, by moving the footwells while still in the mold.
Older skis provide a place for your butt, however, nothing ergonomic about it. Today's skis are far more form-fitting and will match human anatomy a whole lot more than a bucket.
What you really should do is set your ski aside for a while, and simply take couple of road trips to try newer skis. I think you will be enlighten, and I do believe you will (once again) fall in love with the sport of Ocean Surfskis.
