Durban – Paddling sensation Hank McGregor (Team Best 4 Kayak Centre) exploited the magnificent conditions on KZN’s South Coast perfectly as he eased to victory in the Hansa 5 Beaches surfski race, his third consecutive win in this year’s Discovery Best 4 Surfski Series.

Durban – The Borland Financial Services Surfski Challenge got the 2012 Varsity College Marine Surfski Series underway on Friday evening with the vastly experienced Herman Chalupsky leading the record field of over 350 surfski paddlers across the line in testing conditions.

My heart sank a few days ago when I saw the forecast... and sure enough, for the first time in six years, the opening race in the Discovery Sunglass Hut series was held on a flat sea, with barely a whisper of wind to help the paddlers.
