northfloridapaddlesports.com has the details. I'm entering and am still a novice, but there are several very experienced racers entering and thee is a cash prize. I just want to see more surf skis in Jacksonville. Too great of a place and too nice of a sport to miss out here. If you're nearby, come race this Sunday.

I attended this race and took quite a few photos. If you were on a ski then I probably got a picture of you. I'll post the photos this evening and provide a link.

Btw, getting past the breakers looked exhausting!! The waves seemed big ( for jax Beach anyway) but not well-formed. Just one big churning mess of foam The majority of the racers were knocked out of their skis at least once during each successive trip.

It was a ton of fun to watch, but it looked difficult for the racers.

Shortyakker, I love the pics, you actually got me in a few. Unfortunately, you also got my V10 alone, after I dumped. Do you have any additional shots?

Randy-

Thanks for the post. Its good to see that there is a surfski paddling community in JX with organized races. Looked like you all had a good day of it out there. What were the winds like? Hopefully it set up for a good downwind.

Was rough and windy. Easily 5 foot waves outside and 20 mph winds. Very confused surf, I think everybody went swimming. I know Reid Hyle broke his ski. SO that's two races in a row here in Jax with similar conditions. Glad they didn't call the race, though, it's great to have a challenging course. Next stop is the C2C race on October 26th, a 17 mile downwind in Melbourne area.

I'll check my pc tonight to see if there are more pics. There should be a few more. I just picked the best ones I could find.

I updated the link. I think the newer photos are the last 7 ones in the album. Lots of churning waves and sea foam.
