(For members who aren't from South Africa, "Slaap Stad" is a derogatory name for Cape Town which means "sleepy town"...!)
The Chicago Shoreline hasn't run for quite a while (since 2013 in fact) but I'll email you the organisers' email address; I'm sure they'll know if there are other events, or paddlers in the area.
