Hello,
what is the best way to take my surfski via the airplane to my holiday destination?
I traveled by bike around the world and even took my tandem into the airline, but a surfski look a bit more complicated.
Which airlines prefer surfskitravelers and bring the ski safe to he desired desination?
Cheers

Most of the airlines I looked at had a maximum length for oversize baggage between 2 and 3 meters. This means you would likely need to find a 3 part surfski.

Even if you found a 3 part surfski, the oversize bag fee is a minimum $200usd x3 so you're likely to spend over $700 just to fly your ski 1 way.

For $1400 you could just buy a Epic V7 locally! My guess is it is impossible to transport a typical surfski on a commercial airliner. I see Quantas offers air freight so you could probably look into that, but even air freight sounds complicated logistically and likely not cheap either.

So what kind of plane will transport a surfski? a very large, private one! $$$$$
