Regarding new Mako XT double: Is it always necessary to synch strokes between paddlers? Thanks.

Is it always necessary to synch strokes between paddlers?

Absolutely! Synchronization is key to doing well in a double.

You can actually feel the boat jerk when you're slightly out of synch.

The boat is the captain-you and your patrner are the crew.
Be very careful with criticisms of your partners paddling technique and habits. Be doubly careful if the partner is your wife.
Always remember who has the car keys to get back home. That should temper the tone of what you say while in the boat.

Of course as I think back now on my comment; "Put the ugly guy in the back so the front guy doesn't have to look at him....."

When my buddy Chuck took me out in his two-man......HE PUT ME IN THE BACK !!! I guess I know where I stand.......
