I contacted the man himself and he replied:

Dear Rob,
Sorry to say I haven't found anywhere that still has copies of fit to paddle. The publisher didn't think it sold well enough and took it out of print. That's of course when everyone wants to buy it. I do have the rights to the book and plan on self-publishing a revised edition in the not-so-distant future. I will put your name on the contact list when it goes to print. Good luck.
