I found Windty quite reliable in my area (south of France).

What about you all? I wonder if it can be a good tool in areas with underdevelopped meteo system?

Brilliant app - amazing amount of data there. So far really accurate here Perth however we've had constant mild easterlies with little variation so nothing to really test the global nature of the app. Will keep tabs on weather here and post anything of remark.

I have found Windyty to be accurate for northern California except for the Lake Tahoe area.

Accuracy of Windity pretty damn good, however local conditions are more refined in local reports. The screen grabs below are from Ocean Reef Marina WA 7.30pm-8.30pm Mon 20th July where the observation station is pretty much on the water. First image is Windity, second the local BOM - Bureau of Meteorology. I think Windity's data is taken from from Hillarys Boat Harbour though which is 6kms south. The observation station Hillary's is more protected.

Key: wind speed is blue line, wind gusts the dark grey line above. Click images to enlarge.

Ocean Reef BOM

Hillary's BOM:

Pretty accurate though - increases from the local BOM mirroring graphical increase of Windity.
