Hi Guys.

Has anyone any experience of the new Multi 60, I'm looking at a comparison of intermediate skis available in Perth with a big bucket option

Thanks.

Not a very common ski. Where can you buy one in Perth?

Hi Dicko.

There's a WA agent for red 7. I haven't checked on availability as I'm just getting ready to start looking. I've got storage and transport issues for long skis, so the slightly short length of the Multi 60 appealed to me. I also wondered if it was a new design or a re-hash of the original.

I have owned 2 red 7's and I loved both skis. There were build quality issues. I doubt if the agent would carry the multi 60.
If I were you I would look at an older epic v10 sport, cos they had a wider seat or a new stellar sr. There is bugger all else available in the west. The Stellar boats tend to be well finished and reasonably well finished. Think kayaks intermediate boats tend to be full length.

Hi Dicko.

There were build quality issues.

In theory these have been sorted out as they outsource their construction!

I've had a quick paddle in a mates V10S and it would suit, although its length may be an issue. I found the SR seat uncomfortable.

Is the Fenn XT that slow compared to a V10S?

The xt is the greatest beginners boat of all time. Great fun to learn in. The trouble is you outgrow them in no time at all. If you only paddle by yourself it isn't an issue, but if you paddle with mates you will get left behind.
They are about an 1 kmh slower than a real intermediate ski, which doesn't sound much, but when you paddle in a group everyone else will have their skis on the roof by the time you get back.
Over an 8km course my xt was 5min slower than my latest ski.

Hi Dean.

When I get down to serious looking I'll check out the menagerie that Ash has!

I've been paddling a CK Mentor the last few years and am after something with more stability in the rough stuff especially as I don't have as much time to paddle.

Two of my mates have a Swordfish, but it's just too narrow for me!
