Australia's richest surf ski racing event hits the shores of WA this weekend. Featuring the greatest lineup of surf ski paddlers from around the globe, more than 100 paddlers will make the 28 kilometer journey from Rottnest to Sorrento Beach.

W Australia: Competitors were treated to an unusually calm Cape in this years running of the King of the Cape. In what was a rare occurrence for this part of the coast, the usual strong south westers and big swell were replaced by moderate offshores and flat seas.

The thought of US$1,000 waiting for him in Dubai was definitely going through Tim Jacobs' mind as he powered toward the finish of the Lion Island Challenge, just edging out Jeremy Cotter for the win.  It was a hard-fought victory, but one that will definitely have Tim feeling confident in the lead-up to the Dubai Shamaal.

Two important announcements have just been made concerning surf ski in Australia - three races to decide the Cash to Compete recipients for the Dubai Shamaal race - and the Ocean Series will decide who competes in Durban in 2008.
