If there were such a thing as an “Editor’s Choice” for events, the Dragon Run would be way up there.  The sixth edition of the race is scheduled for 10 November, 2012, and if it isn’t on your bucket list – it should be.

The Dragon Run (this year sponsored by Steelcase) has been on my wish list since it first ran in 2007.  Now that I’ve done it, it’s still on my wish list – only more so!

Australia's muscleman and unsung hero, Tim Jacobs (36) to-day issued due-reminder of his immense endurance-paddling talents by winning Hong Kong's 23km Steelcase Dragon Run final world surfski series event in most emphatic fashion when he raced across the finish-line 52 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, South Africa's 2011 world-champion Dawid Mockè..

The briefing’s been done, 138 surfski paddlers (and over a hundred OC1 and OC6 paddlers) are checked in and ready to go.  And the weather forecast is looking better and better.

NOT even three-time world ironman champion Shannon Eckstein could stop Tim Jacobs on Saturday in the Vajda Narrabeen Downwind Challenge.

With the array of talent that will line up in Clearwater Bay on Saturday, it’s clear that it’s going to be tough to make the top ten.  But one paddler above all has to be the man to beat: Hank McGregor

This year’s Steelcase Dragon Run, set to take place on 19 November in Hong Kong, will have the most competitive international field of surfski paddlers yet.

“The Steelcase Dragon Run” International Surfski and Outrigger Championships 2011 will take place in Hong Kong on Saturday November 19, 2011.

South African Dawid Mocke put on a clinical display to win the 25km Hong Kong Dragon Run this morning.  Aussie Jeremy Cotter came second.
