V12 foot room?

I wear a US size 12, narrow (B/C) shoe. That's pretty narrow for a guy. With very thin NSR Neoprene water socks I just barely have enough room for the width of my feet in my Epic V12. My feet were getting a little cold so I tried a pair of slightly thicker booties and they made my feet too wide for the foot well.
My question is: How can you guys with normal width, i.e. D or E width, feet even fit in a V12?
