Boat construction was created by garykroukamp
Most of us, I'm sure, have no idea how a boat is manufactured and put together. How about an article on boat manufacture explaining materials, moulds, stringers, cooking etc. Perhaps one of the manufacturers could give us a step by step of the process with pictures?

Low blow indeed! Had quite a good time trial, actually. Enjoying my new carbon/kevlar Legend XL K1 from Custom kayaks. Will have to beat you next week just to shut you up, Chris. Was only about 20 seconds behind you yesterday...

Now, can someone explain vacuum bagging and it's implication in terms of cost, durability, weight etc. Are all carbon boats made this way? How does adding Kevlar affect the rigidity, weight and durabilty?
