I am buying a used Think Evo in the next couple of days and it doesn't have a foot strap. So I was wondering were to get the double foot strap or should I get the single? I'm new to the sport (clearly) and need to get some things.

I also need to get a PFD, can any one recommend a good one? I'm not looking for a huge one but more along the lines of I really don't want to know it's there.

Cheers!

Where are you located?
If you're in the USA, I'd try DeAnne Hemmens at www.oceanpaddlesports.com
They carry Lincke footstraps which are great, better than most factory ones. They also carry a nice Aussie brand PFD.
If you want the original double straps, then I would assume you could contact Think directly at www.thinkkayaks.com

Where are you based, SD Guy? I have both single and double straps available in Australia. Happy to post worldwide if required.

I've been using an inflatable rashie www.inflatablerashie.co.nz/
Like paddling in a paddle jacket and has a pull cord if you need, which allows you to swim etc easier. Fully rated as a PDF

Yet still not allowable to race in with our current rules structure.

Not sure about the best foot strap option--original Think or Linke from Deanne.

But I'm really liking my new Kokatat SeaO2 PFD. It's a hybrid one, with some floatation of its own (7.5 pounds), plus the option to inflate manually or via CO2 cartridge if things get sketchy. I tested it last week, and it floated me fine, while making it easier to swim, remount, etc. than a normal full-float PFD. I haven't tried inflating it yet. Kokatat is a great company that really stands by their product.

Astral Bouyancy is also a great option.

I am in San Diego. I would be interested in trying the double footstrap too.

Thanks again for all the feedback!
